ENTREVISTA CON HAGGIS/INTERVIEW WITH HAGGIS

Bueno chicos, muchas gracias por concedernos esta entrevista. Somos la Bathroom Ducks Skinhead Crew, una panda de chicos que hemos abierto recientemente un nuevo blog sobre la escena Skinhead pero todo desde un punto de vista cómico y musical.

Well guys, thank you very much for that interview. We are the Bathroom Ducks Skinhead Crew, some guys that have started a new blog about the skinhead movement from an strictly funny and musical point of view. 

P: El nombre del grupo se asemeja en España con una marca de pañales…¿habéis aprendido ya a ir solos al baño?

Q: The name of the band sounds in our language similar as a nappy band. Have you already learned how to go to the bathroom alone?

R: Esta entrevista empieza siendo tan retrasada como lo esperaría de un Skinhead Magazine de Malasia. Muy orgulloso de que mi idea de Malasia es la correcta.

A: This interview starts as retarded as expected from a Malaysian Skinhead magazine. So glad my idea os Malaysia is correct.

¿Nos podríais introducir un poco sobre vuestro grupo? Cómo os conocisteis, quiénes lo forman, origen del nombre, influencias, alergias musicales…

Could you introduce your band a little bit? How did you get to know each other, which people are in the band, the name’s origins, influences, musical allergies…

No. ¿Por qué? Porque durante los años ha habido cerca de 50 miembros en Haggis y cada uno, retrasado o mentalmente disfuncional ha tenido su propio origen, sus propias influencias, etc. Pero puedo hablar de mí mismo (y mi retrasado hermano Bilo) y decir que estoy influenciado por la música que suena bien, no importa el género. Si suena bien, es buena por lo que me influenciará. ¡Un poquito de sal y vamos allá!

No. Why? Because there have over the years been close to 50 members in Haggis and each one, retarded or mentally dysfunctional have had their own origin, influences etc. But I can speak for myself (and my retarded brother Bilo) and say that I´m influenced by music that sounds good, no matter what genre. If it sounds good, it´s good and in terms will influence me. You add a little salt and there we go!

Punkrock tocado por gente que no puede ni sujetar sus instrumentos…con twist.

Punkrock played by people who can handle their instruments…with a twist.

¿Sois skins o vikingos?

Somos semidioses mitológicos engendrados por Vikingos que a veces visten como Skins…¡Lo que coño sea que eso signifique!

We are mythological demigods spawned by Vikings occasionally dressed as Skins…whatever the fuck that means!

Lleváis desde 1993. Habéis sacado tanto EP`s como álbums. ¿Habéis vendido alguno?

Haggis started in 1993. You have record either EP`s or albums. Have you sold any?

Hemos vendido bastante bien yo creo…cerca de 12.000 copias del EP “Pride is your crime”, 100 del EP “Party i toerlugå”, 100 del EP “Keine sucker, keen bon-bon”, 2000 del disco “Stormtroopers of hate!, 1000 del EP “Burning” que para nuestro género creo que lo hemos hecho bien. Si quisiéramos ser millonarios creedme que tocar en Haggis no es la manera de ser uno de ellos.

We´ve sold pretty good i guess…close to 12.000 of the «Pride is our crime ep», 100 of the «Party i toerlugå» ep,100 of the «Keine sucker, keen bon-bon» ep, 2000 of the «Stormtroopers of hate» album, 2000 of the «Impeccable glory of eternal war» album, 3000 of the «The beginning of the end» album, 1000 of the «Burning» ep so as to our genre I think we´ve done alright. If we wanted to be millionaires believe me playing in Haggis is not the way to become one.

¿Tenéis otros proyectos musicales aparte de Haggis?

Have you got any musical projects apart from Haggis?

Sí, yo tengo por mi cuenta una banda country llamada Deathbarrel que ha editado un álbum, “Merciless Winds” y está a punto de grabar en estudio un segundo disco, tal y como hemos hablado. También acabo de reunir una nueva banda de punkrock llamada Cala Boca con varios miembros de bandas noruegas de black metal (Hoest de Take, Dirge Rep de Enslaved y Freddy de Konsortium) que suena como una mezcla de Danzig y los Ramones bebiendo alcohol ilegal en el sitio de Misfits…por decir algo…

Yes, I have a solo country project called Deathbarrel who have released one album «Merciless Winds» and are about to enter the studio to record a second one as we speak. I also have just compiled a new punkrock band called Cala Boca together with various Norwegian black metal personalities (Hoest from Take, Dirge Rep from Enslaved and Freddy from Konsortium) that sounds like a mix of Danzig and The Ramones drinking moonshine at Misfits place...so to speak…

¿Y con cuáles os lleváis mal?

Is there any band who you can’t stand?

Millones: Discipline, Stomper 98, Sham 69 (con Jimmy “El Pedófilo” Pursey), Perkele, Los Fastidios, Condemned 84 etc…No me malinterpretéis, algunas de esas bandas tienen grandes tíos a los que respeto. Pero eso no significa que me guste su música.

Os acusan de nazis, os definís como anti-comunistas y no racistas. ¿A quién queréis enseñarle el culo?

You have been criticized for “being nazis”, and you describe yourselves as anti-communists and non-racist. Whom do you like to show your arse?

No somos anti-comunistas, somos anti-todo, odiamos a todos por igual.

We´re not anti communist, we´re anti everything, we hate everyone equally.

Se sabe que sois muy amigos de Wattie (cantante de Exploited). Wattie fue agredido hace varios años en Madrid por personas cercanas a RASH por salir en unas fotos con cierta gente. ¿Qué opináis de esto?

It is known you are great friends of Wattie (The Exploited). Wattie was injured some years ago in Madrid by some people close to RASH because of showing himself in photos hanging around with some persons. What is your opinion about this fact?

Hay retrasados e imbéciles por todo el mundo que dedican sus vidas enteras tratando de sacar mierda, entendiendo mal las cosas y molestando al mundo de 9 a 5. Es evidente que Madrid también tiene ese tipo de idiotas.

There are retards and fuckwits all over the world who will spend their entire lives trying do digg up shit, misunderstand and pester the world from 9-5. Clearly Madrid also have these kinds of morons.

En el cartel de la gira estadounidense aparecían varias Totenkopf. ¿Qué significa eso para vosotros?

There were several Totenkopfs in the banner of the USA tour. What does it mean for you?

Por citar al legendario e inteligente Ian Fraser Kilmister. Siempre son los malos los que tienen los artefactos más chulos. No se usaron por otra razón que porque molan y molestan a la gente.

To quote the legendary and highly intelligent Ian Fraser Kilminster: It´s always the bad ones that have the cool artifacts. It´s used for no other reason than it looks cool and pisses people off.

¿Se podría decir que sois la banda más provocadora de la escena Oi!?

Could it be said that you are the most provocative band in the Oi! scene?

Se podría, se debería y es verdad. Gracias.

En España Condemned 84 es un grupo que no gusta a mucha gente por no definirse políticamente. ¿Qué os parece?

In Spain, Condemned 84 is a band hated by many people for being politically incorrect. What do you think about that?

Creo que todo el mundo tiene derecho a una opinión, todo el mundo tiene una, como los gilipollas.

I think people are entitled to an opinion, like assholes everybody has one.

¿Habéis tenido alguna vez problemas para tocar en algún sitio?

Have you ever had difficulties/problems to play somewhere?

Sólo por culpa de nuestra propia estupidez, como por beber mucho antes de un concierto o por ser expulsados de un avión porque el bajista se negaba a abrocharse el cinturón jajaja.

Only because of our own stupidity, like drink too much before a show or get thrown out of an airplane because the bassplayer refused to put his seatbelt on hahaha.

¿Os avergonzáis de algo?

Do you feel ashamed because of something?

Me avergüenzo de los politicos del mundo…y de aquellos que les siguen ciegamente…del partido que sea..

I´m ashamed of politicians all over the world…and those who blindly follow them..whatever party they might lead.

¿Qué opináis de los pelirrojos? ¿A qué gente odiáis más?

What do you think about the redheads? Which people do you hate the most?

¿Pelirrojos? ¿No son lo mismo que los Rednecks…? Bueno, a lo que importa, odio a los nativos americanos así que imagínate.

 Redheads? Aren’t they the same as Rednecks…? For that matter, I hate Native Americans as well so go figure.

Fuimos a Barcelona y a Tenerife y creo que tanto la paella como las tapas son de mariquitas.

Been to Barcelona and Tenerife and I think both paella and tapas are for homos.
